Auntie Em’s Kitchen has become an institution in Northeast Los Angeles, feeding residents of the Eagle Rock neighborhood and beyond for over a decade.
After playing in the all-female punk band the Red Aunts in the 1990s, Wahl started Auntie Em’s to serve her take on American comfort food. She still maintains the catering business that marked as her start in the food business and has put out a cookbook, A Musician’s Guide to Breakfast and Brunch.
Last week Terri Wahl hosted “Cook with Abandon!” at the Scion AV Installation where she showcased a few of her kitchenware items including cheese boards, tote bags and chef knifes customized with Wahl’s art work that blends her love of cooking and rock & roll. Check out pictures from the gallery.
