Here’s a quick dose of the Scion AV All Purpose Show, hosted by Prince Paul. In this episode Paul interviews Tom Araya of Slayer, Cheech Marin, and the duo of David Choe and Stevie Lee of Mangchi. The clips are a sampling of the extended versions of the conversations that will be available in the coming days.

To get things going, Tom Araya, the bassist and vocalist of Slayer, talks about the importance of keeping his band a group of outsiders for over 30 years. How they do it is simple—they just do whatever they want. Check out the recent Slayer x Scion Driven project to see more of what they’re up to.

Paul spoke with comedy hero Cheech Marin at the last Scion Music(less) Music Conference. Marin went way back, all the way to his youngest days growing up in Los Angeles, explaining how the need to keep up with cousins made him funny.

Then there’s the superhero-like appearance of artist David Choe and comedian/musician Stevie Lee. After the duo do some dutiful worshipping of Prince Paul, they explain how they met. Lee does his routine that made Choe a fan of his but bombed at the Improv in Tempe.

Interspersed between these conversations are bits from Scion’s Man on the Street segment with Sal Barbier and Lloydski. This time the two hit up this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, where Scion shows off all the awesome stuff they’re up to, including two new highly customized cars from Slayer and Riley Hawk.

Finally, correspondent Stevie Lee stops by the Scion AV Installation space in Los Angeles to meet with Olivia Jean. The Third Man Records artist offers a look at her “Bathtub Love Killing” show and adds some insights on the progression of her songwriting process. The episode ends with a glimpse of the upcoming Scion x Olivia Jean Driven series. Look out for that, as well as those extended interviews with Prince Paul, soon.
